Gracie
What a wonderful dog Gracie is. She was very disinterested in the cats- which is perfect. The meeting with our dogs was the easiest we've ever had. When I arrived home my brother in law was here with his two tiny dogs and she was perfect with them.  She is a little timid of things now, but what a day she has had and she has behaved superbly.

Believe it or not the hardest part of bringing her home was the first 10 miles from your house. She broke through the dog barrier and came into the front seat. I pulled over and put her back into the back and she did it again and again and so on and so on and so on (5-6 times).  I finally had to tie her leash to the back. She whined for a grand total of about 90 seconds and then she settled down.  She seems to have a very sweet and gentle personality.  In short, she just seems perfect.

I will get some pictures once all the dogs settle into a routine and email them to you. Thank you for letting us adopt this lovely lady!
Gracie is doing great. She is so sweet and loving and is the best snuggler.  Shortly after we adopted her I got the flu and spent 2 days in bed. Gracie spent the entire 2 days cuddled up by my side. She was very timid at first, but not anymore. In fact after the first week or so she became a bit pushy and would paw me whenever she wanted attention. I started ignoring her whenever she did that and she has pretty much stopped it already. Instead, she does the cutest thing- when she sits to be petted she holds her front paw a few inches off of the ground, as if she is showing me that she really wants to paw me but is stopping herself.  She seems very smart and has learned so much in such a short time. She now sits and waits for her food until she is released to eat. She walks great on a leash.  She lets me cut her nails and brush her teeth.

In terms of her health, her tail has healed beautifully. When we first adopted her, she still was weak and her back legs would buckle alot. Now her leg weakness seems to have resolved and she leaps and bounds around the yard. In fact, she has become so energetic that I have started running her about 1/2 mile to try to drain off some of her puppy energy.  I think Gracie could be a poster child for your rescue. She sounds like she was really sick when she arrived and now she is doing fantastic.  We love her already and are so glad you let us adopt her.  Thank you"
