Sammy is fitting in nicely.  He and Bruiser, our retriever, seem to be well matched in speed and endurance.  Sam has latched on to me quite a bit already.  We go for walks in the woods daily and he does horse chores with us too.  He is not quite sure of the horses yet.  They have been sniffing noses only.  We start beginner obedience on the 14th at Pet Smart.  This will be excellent for him.  I have him scheduled for a bath and nails in a couple weeks to get his nails back to where they should be.  He is very loving and affectionate and seems to really like his new home.

Hi Ann,
Well it's been 2 weeks and I can say with great confidence that Sampson was meant to be our dog.  We had our first obedience class yesterday.....Sam drew a crowd!  After the class I walked him around the store and every person we met wanted to pet him.  He did very well.  He is going horseback riding with us now with no problem, although he is not fond of the woods when it gets brushy.  He is scheduled for a bath and manicure the 25th of November and I believe he is nearly ready to be loose all day in the garage.  He is very good at going potty outside.  He is a sweet boy and he and Bruiser have become good buddies.  I tell everyone about your organization so I hope that you are having great success finding homes.  We will definitely get another surrendered Dane when that day comes.
