VOLUNTEERS are the backbone of any rescue program. Without volunteers a rescue will not succeed. Whether it is an hour a month or several hours a day you can donate, there is a job waiting for you.
FOSTERING AND/OR TRANSPORT If you would like to foster a Dane but have no experience with a jumbo Dane you may sign up for our mentoring program.
HOME VISIT volunteers must have a minimum of 3 years large breed experience. They will go to the applicant's home and conduct an interview and inspection. The home visit results has great value in determining if the home is suitable for a Dane..
BACKGROUND AND REFERENCE CHECK can be done from your home via telephone and computer. Your recommendations based on what you learned through the checks helps determine if the applicant will be approved to adopt from the rescue.
DATA ENTRY help is needed to enter application and surrender forms into our online program. There may be as few as one form a week to as many as two forms or more a day. Video training is available for this position.
DANES IN NEED volunteer will check the Craig's lists for all of Minnesota and Wisconsin daily as well as other internet "sales" sites and Humane Societies and Shelters. They will extend an offer of help to these sources via email or phone.
ADOPTION FOLLOW UP volunteer will contact the new family one month after adoption to see how everything is going. This can be done by email or phone.
FUND RAISING volunteers are necessary to keep the rescue running. Whether you can praticipate at one of our events, do local mini fund raising projects or organize large events, you are needed. Please consider helping in this area.
